Gore-Tex fabric. By far the most respected and trusted name in Waterproof / Breathable / Durable materials. Used by the US Military, US Postal Service and other tough customers throughout the world, Gore-Tex is the Gold standard that others are still attempting to follow. Gore-Tex material.
100% waterproof, 100% breathable, 100% durableOuter Layer is a 3-layer Mil-spec Taslite material. This is tough, lightweight, durable fabric used by the US military. This outer layer serves the function of protecting the membrane, holding the color of the fabric and has a Durable Water Repellency (DWR) that, like wax on your car, keeps water beading up and rolling off of your garment..gif)
The Inner Layer is tricot nylon, which serves the functions of protecting the membrane, providing a moisture wicking layer to dissipate sweat and replaces the need for a separately sewn in lining.
Middle Layer is the Gore-Tex membrane. This provides the waterproof / breathable barrier.
Seam Taping: Seams are all sealed using Gore’s own Gore-Seam technology, tested using Gore Performance Standard 2 (Gore’s most rigorous standard) and proven by 17 years of relentless product testing in the real world, which incidentally, is the same world you live in!
Zippers: When side weapons access zippers or underarm ventilation zippers are required, we only use YKK Waterproof zippers. YKK is the recognized worldwide leader in zipper technology. They have coated the zipper with polyurethane, making the zipper waterproof when fully zipped. Waterproof zippers eliminate the need for bulky flaps, giving the wearer greater comfort and versatility. Each zipper pull is fitted with a pull-tab that allows for easy zipping, even with gloves.
